Spring is a Long Time Coming

Snickers and Toby got together for a nice walk to celebrate the snow FINALLY starting to melt. They are finding lots to sniff at. Toby is a little smaller, but Snickers keeps up while hopping on her remaining rear leg. She is a remarkable hunter. Even in the middle of the latest snow storm, she spotted a robin and took off through the latest fourteen inches of snow! Look at what good pals Toby and Snickers are!

Even the sparrows are finding time to snuggle. They were busy collecting dry grass to line their nests. It took them a while to push all the snow out of their holes. We were worried that they wouldn't find enough to eat so I put out some peanut butter. They seem to be doing just fine.

Hi, Sharon and Snickers!
Glad you see you again!
You still have snow there!!! Today we had 106 degrees here!
Peanut butter for the birds?? Do they like it??

Birds love peanut butter. It is high in fat and helps them stay warm when it is cold outside. You can butter a pinecone with it and hang in a tree. They love that.

Hi Sharon & Snickers,

It has been such a pretty spring weekend here & I have been chasing birds & squirels a lot. Here in Texas it will be getting hot real soon...spring only lasts a short time before it will get into the 90's. I bet spring stays a long time at your house.

The Mommy wants you to know what you to know what an inspiration Snickers is to her and her friends Chris & Tina. There little doxie has got some major orthapedic problems & might need surgery. When we visited him & his family yesterday The Mommy used Snickers as an example of what a brave little doggie & his family can do if they love each others. We even came over here and they felt much better after they did.

Love ya both lots & lots...Mona & the Mommy
