I rescued a rat terrier puppy from a no-kill shelter. This blog is about living with a rescue animal; the joy, the tears, the satisfaction.

Red Roses
Snickers is enjoying the warm fall weather outside in the garden. It seems to help her recovery to get outside in the sun and sniff around just like the rest of the dogs. Here she is amongst the roses.
You are ALL incredibly lucky! It is so good to hear about Snickers and how much you are doing for her.
There is a magazine called BARK, and if you can a copy of the July/August 2006 issue, they ran a piece on three-legged dogs. It's very informative and the pictures are great! (or contact me at hogglebog@gmail(dot)com and I will send you the copy I got from a friend - there's a small footprint for a magazine, eh?)
I have a rat/chi mix that is a bit of a menance - also a rescue. He's got the terrier protective trait, and I'm still trying to convince him that he doesn't need to nip people, they can come around me and that's okay. Sigh.
But you gotta love the love you get from these dogs. All heart!
