I rescued a rat terrier puppy from a no-kill shelter. This blog is about living with a rescue animal; the joy, the tears, the satisfaction.

No Butt Sitting Allowed!
We are really lucky. We have so many parks nearby that Snickers and I can keep walking as long as we want. I just read that if you walk 10,000 steps a day that you will be able to easily make your ideal weight. I put a podometer on myself early in the day and went about my daily routine. It didn't take long to realize that there is no way in God's green earth that I would reach 10,000 footsteps a day staying at home. Snickers and I went out to the park and did a couple walks around. An hour later, we were up to 2500 steps. Oh my! It is now very clear to me that if you want to reach that goal, there will be NO BUTT SITTING! Unfortunately, I butt sit for a living. So, besides the daily walks for Snickers, we are going to have to invest in some sort of exercise equipment in order to get into shape.

hi,
when i first click in your blog, I was like OMG,dog with 3 legs?? Poor baby, but Im glab that you guys love him so much....
good job.
We get that a lot. Sometimes people point, sometimes they stare, and sometimes the kind soul walks over to ask if I know my dog only has three legs. Snickers doesn't seem to mind. We help her scratch her ear and neck and in turn she licks us all over and pokes her nose in naughty places. Snickers is not our first dog, but I have to say that she is one of the best I've known. Smart, loving, and very happy. Together we try to educate people that those with physical differences are enabled in different ways than those without the differences. Come visit us again! We think you are cute!
