Found your blog through Garden Djinn...a tripod dog, how cool is that! She seems like a real honey....I've met a couple of rat terriers and they are neat little dogs. Are they as bossy and hyper as Jack Russell Terriers? The ones I've met weren't but maybe they weren't "typical."

Hi Carina! Thanks for visiting. Snickers is not that bossy or hyper. I just commented to my husband that I think she must sleep 18 hours a day, mostly by choice. When she is awake, she is bossy about wanting to sit in one of our laps. And when we get home from being out, she is really goofy about first taking her "babies" out, then she goes potty and brings the "babies" in, then she runs upstairs and makes us rub her tummy. Then she's fine, but if we vary her routine, she cries until she gets her tummy rub. We got her from a shelter and only know that she had been neglected. We are suspicious about whether she had been hit. When we call her and bend to pick her up, she still cowers, so we try to let her come to us. She is extremely loving, not yappy, and loves to play and walk. We don't bother with teaching her tricks because we think dealing with three legs is trick enough. However, I don't believe the parakeet is safe in her presence. We have to keep a close watch on them. Please visit us again!

Thanks - one day I want a little rescue dog; one I can do agility with. :) My female Rottweiler would probably try to kill a small dog...Cooper really likes them, though. Even though he's not that great with many other big dogs.
I know quite a few JRTs through agility, not sure I could live with that level of business though.

We purposely stayed away from JRT's because of personality. I wouldn't trade Snicker's, though. Our last dog was a Golden. This one is mellow but with the extra playfulness. I will probably get another one once this one is gone. Would love to do agility at some point, but this is not the dog because of her amputation.
